performance at the recent National Accordion Association's Saturday
night concert was a major success. It was a thrill for
us as performers for several reasons. First, this arrangement
was done by our former teacher and current mentor, Gene Van.
It is a fabulous showcase for the accordion and shows that even the
simplest themes done right can be both complex and entertaining.
Gene Van was also in attendance for this premiere of "Chopsticks"
and while adding to the stress - we certainly were thrilled to have
the opportunity to perform it for him and in front of such a
wonderfully receptive audience. his duo is always full of musical surprises, especially when they bring
down the house with the crowd favorite "Chopsticks".
